Wow, it’s been almost a month since I’ve written a state of the WIPs post. For a while, I was working on the same projects and really didn’t think I would have too much to add. The good news is that I’ve finished a bunch of projects and will be taking a lot of finished object photos this weekend. I’ll post more detailed posts about those projects in the upcoming week or so. Without further ado, here is a picture of my current WIPs, with details about finished objects and upcoming plans to follow.

I finished my Time Trades Shawl in record time! I don’t remember the last time a shawl was this quick for me to knit. I’ll post a more detailed write up about this project, but spoiler alert – it’s amazing! I highly recommend it! The shawl is mostly a sample for the shop, but I will definitely wear it around soon.

Again, finished photos coming soon, but this sweater fits really nicely. I think it’s a little longer than ideal, but I like it for leggings. This will definitely be a great weekend sweater with leggings or a more casual friday sweater with jeans. I would make this again and knit a few less inches with it. Look for more details soon!

Well, I guess they are February socks now! I’m actually pretty close to done with these socks. I used leftovers from a pair I made for my husband and so in order to have enough, I used black yarn from my stash of contrast colors for the heels. I also plan to use it for the cuffs. I mostly knit these while at the movie theaters. I’m doing them two at a time and so it took a few movies to get to the heels (knitting toe up). I worked on the heels for a couple of commutes and then went up the legs at the movies this week. I’m just about out of yarn on one sock, which means I’ll switch to the black yarn again and finish the cuffs. I think I might just try to get these off the needles this weekend.
Northeasterly Blanket

Needles: Size 1 dpns

I work on this before bed sometimes. I’ve been in a bad habit of just playing on my phone and so I need to start reading and knitting on this instead. Since I last posted, I probably added a few colors and will post an updated picture in the next WIP post. Not too exciting, but I have gotten a few colorways done.

My local yarn store, A Knit Sheep, was holding a taste testing for a variety of Juniper Moon Farms yarns. Boy, was that one delicious tasting. These yarns are so soft and I cannot believe that they are cotton. If you haven’t checked them out, you absolutely should. I couldn’t resist buying a skein and literally sat there in the sit and stitch with a skein in front of me. I went back and forth between two different colorways, but as expected, I settled on the original one I wanted. It has green purples and khaki green colors in it. It’s a similar theme to my Emelyn Mae shawl, but I decided that it is ok. I obviously like the colors and will be happy to wear it.
Since it is cotton yarn, I decided to make a one skein cowl that will be great for spring. I like the Escarpment cowl for its simplicity in design as the yarn is very variegated. The two will go together well. I’m knitting it on Size 5 needles and I think I will rip it out and go up a couple of needle sizes. I want it to be a light and airy cowl for spring instead of a dense one. You can tell in the picture that I didn’t knit very much as it is. This project is now my Sit and Stitch project and so I will just work on it those Sundays when I can make it to the shop!
As part of my desire to reduce the scraps in my stash, I cast on a newborn size sweater out of some Hedgehog Fibres yarn. I used this yarn for socks a bunch of years ago and am happy to be using it again. I wans’t sure if I would have enough of the yarn and so I decided to do black for the cuffs and hem along the body. I mostly am knitting on this project during my commutes, but I plan to finish it up this weekend. I think I have about 2 rows left on the second sleeve cuff and then the edging around the front of the sweater. Baby knits are such a great way to use up my leftover yarn! I’m excited to donate this to charity and help someone have colorful and fun clothes for their babies.

1. Neat Ripple – This is on hold until I finish up the charity items with the colors that I have used so far.
2. Spinning – I STILL NEED TO DO MORE OF THIS. I am adding a spinning tracker into my digital planner in hopes that it helps me allocate time for it.
What’s Next?

I am about to cast on a new sample sweater for my shop out of my DK yarn. You can see the ball wound up at the top of the first photo. The sweater will be the “Little Thun” sweater and I’ll be using my Strawberry Shortcake and Mint Chip colorways. I plan to cast this on over the weekend after finishing some of the projects above. My goal is to finish it by next weekend. I have two other shop samples that I am planning to have finished in the next coming weeks and will update as I am ready to cast on!
For non-shop items, I am starting to feel the sock mojo returning. I’m excited to use some of the sock yarn in my stash so look for more projects with those coming soon!
