December DVD socks

Well, I finished my December socks without a hitch. I knit the Oh, Hello sock pattern by Deb Buckingham. When I use sock patterns, I just use the stitch pattern and otherwise do my own numbers with a fish lips kiss heel. There’s probably more to this pattern than the stitch pattern, but I think it’s very similar to the Blueberry Waffle pattern. I wanted a simple textured pattern and this was in my library so I figured I’d give it a go. I think I got it for free at some point.

The final finished pair!

For those interested, I plan to have a post with my vanilla sock pattern, what I do for my husband and general thoughts about knitting socks.

Overall, this 12 month knit a long has been very rewarding for me. I knit a lot of pairs of socks and found that I can knit a pair of socks in a week when needed. While I didn’t have sock mojo for most of the year, this kept me productive and I am happy that I have these socks ready to wear this winter. I did receive a free skein at 6 months and I also will receive one for completing all 12 and so there are more DVD socks in my future. I also have plenty of leftovers that should become stripes in my new scrap blanket and potential charity items in the future.

I will also say in regard to the colorway, when I look at the dyer’s photos online, it looks like there should be a dark pink stripe and a light pink stripe, whereas I have two very similarly colored stripes. I do not mind at all, but if you are interested in the colorway, I would keep that in mind.
